New FM Community Radio Studio Opens

Frome FM Community Radio proudly opened its brand-new Studio 2 this week, with the ribbon cut by Mayor Andy Jones in the presence of Tim Hardy, Frome FM's director responsible for training. The upgraded spaceis equipped with modern DJ and broadcasting equipment, designed to engage both young talent and seasoned voices in the community.
“This studio is more than just gear and microphones – it’s a space where people of all ages can get involved, share stories, play music, and learn real broadcasting skills,” said Cllr Jones at the opening.
Studio 2 represents FM Community Radio’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, youth engagement, and lifelong learning. The station invites local residents to explore training sessions, live broadcasting opportunities, and creative workshops hosted throughout the year.
Frome FM is about to embark on refurbishing its original studio. AndrewBryant (Frome FM's Technical Director) said "Most of our kit was bought second hand before we gained our full licence thirteen years ago. It has served us well, but we need to build in reliability now to preparefor the future".
